VM Stars 2014-15

Ajay Krishnan of class 8D was awarded the First Place in the violin competition conducted by Sivan Arts Academy in February 2014

In Derek O Brien " Faster Smarter Better" challenge held by Vodafone on July 12th, Shreya Sanjay of Class 8, Parikshit Rao of Class 9 and Vrishank of Class 12 won the Chennai regionals and will represent Chennai in the national finals in Delhi

In Kalanjali Ventures -14, the annual interschool culturals hosted by Bala Vidya Mandir, Adyar, Vidya Mandir was placed 2nd.

Narmada Ramesh, our Tamil teacher was honoured by the Rotary Club of North Madras with the Ronorth Aasan Award for Best Teacher.

Arvind Buvaraghavan of 11D was selected by TNCA to represent Tamil Nadu in the Under 16 category

In the National Level Expression Series on Denadhayal Upadhyaya Competition for writing skills conducted by CBSE, Yamini Prasanth of 8D won the 4th prize.

Aakash Ramdas of 12B has received the KVPY Fellowship Award and has qualified to attend the National Science Camp to be held on November 5th.

Aditya Prabhu and Sreeraman of class 11 have been selected for a student exchange program to Japan by the CBSE (Jenysis) in Oct and Nov 2014 respectively.

VM Stars 2013-14

CBSE South Zone level swimming competition held in Nilambur, Kerala:

Sitara Niranjan of 11A won 5 golds (500 m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle).  She also won the “Individual Championship”.

Ramjay Narayan of 11D won two medals (50m backstroke - silver, 50m freestyle - bronze)

Rasika G of 10A won 5 medals (100m butterfly - silver, 50m freestyle – silver, 100m freestyle – silver, 200m freestyle – gold, 400m freestyle – silver)

CBSE national level competitions held in Haryana:

Sitara Niranjan of 11A won 4 bronzes (500m butterfly, 100m butterfly, 50m backstroke, 100m freestyle)

All India national level swimming competition conducted by Sports Federation of India:

Sitara Niranjan of 11A won 2 bronzes.

Young Author – Yamini Prasanth

Yamini Prasanth’s debut novella “Mishti”, published by Unicorn Books, was launched on the 18th of October at Landmark, Citicentre.  “Mishti”features the escapades in the life of a pre-teen girl.  Yamini has also done the illustrations for her book.  She is a student of 7D.
